A porcelain veneer is a thin, custom ceramic shell bonded to the front of a tooth to improve its colour, shape or alignment. The tooth surface is lightly prepared, an impression taken, and the finished veneer bonded at a later visit; a lower-cost composite veneer option is available for smaller changes.

About this treatment

Porcelain veneers are wafer-thin ceramic facings bonded to the visible surface of the front teeth to address discolouration that does not respond to whitening, chips, worn edges, small gaps or minor irregularities in shape and alignment. Because porcelain is translucent and holds its colour well, veneers can produce a natural-looking, stain-resistant result, and they are often used across the smile line to create an even, harmonious appearance.

At Ddent the treatment starts with a discussion of the desired outcome and an assessment of whether veneers are the right approach.
