The Comprehensive Health Evaluation is the most thorough preventive health programme offered by DC Bled and runs over two days at the group's headquarters in Bled — a scenic lakeside town in the Julian Alps, 45 kilometres from Ljubljana. Patients arrive on Monday morning (or Friday) and complete the programme by approximately 14:00 on day two. Accommodation is provided in hotel-style double ensuite rooms with climate control, balcony, television, telephone, and Wi-Fi. All meals during the two-day stay are included in the programme fee, and the centre's Labod restaurant serves fresh food between scheduled examinations. The combined clinical and hospitality approach eliminates the logistical burden of scheduling multiple appointments across different facilities — everything from arrival to discharge is managed by the DC Bled team. The programme includes all investigations from the Essential Plus day: initial and closing specialist consultations, blood and urine laboratory panels, resting and stress ECG, spirometry, cardiac echocardiography, carotid ultrasound, abdominal and thyroid ultrasound, gender-specific examinations, dermatology, and gastroscopy. The Comprehensive programme adds lower gastrointestinal endoscopy (colonoscopy), which is the gold standard for colorectal cancer detection and adenoma removal — a critical investigation for adults over 45 or those with family history of colorectal disease. Bone mineral density measurement (DEXA) quantifies osteoporosis risk, particularly relevant for post-menopausal women and older men. Advanced vascular assessment extends beyond carotid ultrasound to include peripheral arterial evaluation. Nutritional counselling with a registered dietitian translates laboratory and body composition findings into a personalised dietary plan. All findings are integrated into a comprehensive written report delivered at the closing consultation.
