Liposuction at Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute is one of the most frequently performed procedures at the practice, offered as a standalone treatment for localised fat reduction or combined with other body contouring procedures such as abdominoplasty (lipo-abdominoplasty) or breast augmentation with fat transfer. DPSI's ABPS board-certified surgeons — particularly Dr. Bradley Hubbard, Dr. John Burns Jr., and Dr. Sam Jejurikar — have extensive experience with liposuction of the common body areas: the abdomen (upper, lower, and periumbilical), flanks (love handles), lateral thighs (saddlebags), inner thighs, anterior thighs, arms, posterior back and bra rolls, male chest (gynaecomastia), and submental area (double chin). DPSI uses a tumescent technique — infiltrating a large volume of dilute local anaesthetic and vasoconstrictive solution into the target fat compartment before aspiration — which significantly reduces intraoperative blood loss and provides post-operative pain management. Power-assisted liposuction (PAL) is available for areas with denser or more fibrous fat, using a mechanically oscillating cannula to improve the consistency and completeness of fat removal with less surgeon fatigue. Fat aspirated during liposuction procedures can be processed and used for fat grafting to other areas — a technique integral to DPSI's approach to breast augmentation by fat transfer, fat grafting facial rejuvenation, and body contouring. Results are visible as swelling resolves over six to twelve weeks, with final contour apparent at approximately three to six months.
