CoolSculpting (Cryolipolysis)

CoolSculpting at DPSI's EpiCentre Skin Care Center is a non-invasive FDA-cleared body contouring treatment that uses controlled cooling (cryolipolysis) to selectively target and permanently destroy subcutaneous fat cells without damaging overlying skin or surrounding tissue. The scientific principle underlying CoolSculpting is that adipocytes (fat cells) are more sensitive to cold temperatures than surrounding tissue: when cooled to a specific temperature range, fat cells undergo apoptosis (programmed cell death) and are gradually cleared by the body's lymphatic system over the following weeks to months, permanently reducing the number of fat cells in the treated area. The CoolSculpting system delivers precisely calibrated cooling through a vacuum applicator that draws the target fat bulge into a controlled-temperature chamber. Multiple applicator sizes are available across the EpiCentre device line to treat different anatomical areas: CoolCore and CoolCurve+ for the abdomen, flanks, and back; CoolMini for the submental (double chin) area; CoolSmooth PRO for the outer thigh; CoolFit for the inner thigh and inner arm; and CoolAdvantage for enhanced efficiency with a shorter 35-minute cycle time. Each cycle produces an average of 20–25% reduction in fat layer thickness in the treated area; results become visible from four weeks post-treatment and are fully apparent at two to three months as the lymphatic system clears the damaged cells.
