Vascular Laser (Cutera V+)

The Cutera V+ is a vascular laser used to fade visible facial blood vessels, redness, spider veins, broken capillaries and vascular marks such as port-wine stains. The laser energy is absorbed by the blood in the targeted vessel so it gradually clears while sparing the surrounding skin. Cuerpo Estetico treats the full face or specific areas like the nose and cheeks, with most patients needing a small number of sessions.

A vascular laser such as the Cutera V+ works by emitting a wavelength of light that is preferentially absorbed by haemoglobin, the pigment in blood. When the energy is absorbed inside an unwanted vessel, it heats and damages the vessel wall so that the body gradually clears it, while the surrounding skin is largely spared. This makes it well suited to facial redness, broken capillaries, spider veins, diffuse flushing and vascular lesions such as cherry angiomas and port-wine stains. At Cuerpo Estetico the area is cleansed and eye protection is worn; treatment of a small area takes only a few minutes, while the full face takes around twenty to thirty minutes. The sensation is often described as a quick snap or warmth as each pulse is delivered, and most areas need no anaesthetic. Afterwards there may be temporary redness or slight swelling around the treated vessels for a day or two, and larger vessels can darken briefly before fading. Fine vessels often respond after one or two sessions, while more extensive redness, leg vessels or birthmarks usually need a course spaced several weeks apart. Sun protection before and after treatment is important.
