Thread Lift (PDO / APTOS)

A thread lift uses absorbable sutures placed under the skin to subtly lift and reposition sagging tissue and to stimulate collagen along the thread path. Cuerpo Estetico offers fine PDO and PLLA mono-threads for skin firming and texture, as well as barbed APTOS threads for a stronger lifting effect on the cheeks, jawline and brows. It suits early to moderate laxity in patients who prefer a non-surgical option.

A thread lift is a minimally invasive treatment in which absorbable sutures are introduced under the skin using fine needles or cannulas. Smooth mono-threads (PDO or PLLA) are placed in a mesh pattern to firm and improve skin texture as they stimulate the skin's own collagen, while barbed or cog threads such as the APTOS range have tiny anchors that catch the tissue to physically reposition and lift areas that have begun to sag. Over the following months the threads themselves are gradually absorbed, but the collagen laid down around them is associated with a longer-lasting supporting effect. At Cuerpo Estetico the area is cleansed and numbed with local anaesthetic before treatment, which typically takes thirty to sixty minutes depending on the number of threads. Afterwards you may notice mild swelling, tenderness, small bruises or slight puckering that settles over one to two weeks, and it is usual to avoid wide mouth movements, dental work and facials for a short period. Smooth-thread results build gradually as collagen forms, while barbed-thread lifting is visible more immediately and then matures. The effect generally lasts in the region of a year or more depending on the thread type and individual factors. Thread lifts are best suited to adults with early to moderate laxity of the cheeks, jawline, brows or neck who want a non-surgical lift; they are not a replacement for a surgical facelift in advanced sagging.
