Laser hair removal works by directing pulses of light at the pigment (melanin) in the hair shaft and follicle, where the energy converts to heat and disables the follicle's ability to produce new hair. Because hair grows in cycles and the laser is most effective on follicles in their active growth phase, a series of sessions spaced several weeks apart is needed to treat each area thoroughly. CosmoMedical uses two systems: a diode LightSheer laser suited to a broad range of body areas, and the premium SplendorX, a dual-wavelength platform that may be selected for different skin tones and finer or denser hair. A patch assessment and a free consultation are carried out first to confirm suitability and plan the course. During treatment the area is shaved and a cooling system protects the skin surface while the laser is passed across it; sensations are usually described as a brief warm snap. Sessions range from a few minutes for a small area such as the upper lip to longer appointments for the legs or back. There is little downtime — mild redness or follicular bumps typically settle within hours. Results are gradual: hair becomes finer and sparser across the course, and occasional maintenance sessions may be wanted afterwards.
