Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing treats the skin in microscopic columns to improve texture, fine lines, scarring and tone, prompting strong collagen renewal while leaving surrounding skin intact for faster recovery than fully ablative lasers. At CME it is performed by a physician and tailored to the area and concern. A consultation sets the plan, expected downtime and price.

About this treatment

Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing delivers laser energy into the skin in a grid of microscopic treatment zones, leaving the surrounding tissue untouched. This fractional approach triggers a strong collagen-remodelling response that smooths texture, softens fine lines, fades scarring including acne scars, and evens out tone, while the intact bridges of skin between zones allow faster healing than older fully ablative resurfacing.

At CME the treatment is carried out by a physician. The skin is cleansed and numbed before treatment, which takes around thirty to forty-five minutes for the face. Afterwards the skin feels warm and looks flushed, with mild swelling and a sandpaper-like texture for several days as it renews, so a few days of social downtime and diligent moisturising and sun protection are expected. Because collagen remodelling is gradual, improvements continue for weeks…
