A chemical peel uses a solution of exfoliating acids applied to the skin in a controlled way to loosen and remove the outermost cells, prompting the surface to renew. Depending on the acid and its strength, peels range from very superficial freshening treatments to deeper resurfacing, and they are commonly used to improve the look of discolouration, to support acne-prone skin and to address dullness and uneven texture. Matching the right peel and depth to the individual is central to the treatment, which is why the clinic offers several formulations at different strengths. At CME Anti-Aging in Stargard the skin is cleansed and prepared before the peel is applied and left for a carefully timed period; you may feel warmth or mild tingling during application. Lighter peels such as almond or azelaic involve little to no visible peeling and minimal downtime, while stronger pyruvic or TCA peels are associated with more noticeable flaking and redness over the following days as the skin renews. A short course of lighter peels spaced a couple of weeks apart often gives a more even result than a single treatment, and strict sun protection between sessions and afterwards is essential. The clinic publishes prices for general goal-based peels (discolouration, acne, rejuvenation) as well as for specific acids including almond, azelaic, pyruvic and TCA at 15% and 35%. Peels are avoided over active infection or broken skin and during pregnancy for certain agents; suitability is assessed beforehand and results vary with skin type and aftercare.
