Tooth extraction is the removal of a tooth that is too damaged, decayed or compromised to save, or that needs to be taken out for orthodontic or surgical reasons. At Clinica Dentale extractions are performed by dentists experienced in oral surgery, under local anaesthetic, with straightforward removals and more complex surgical extractions of impacted teeth both available. Where a tooth is removed ahead of an implant, the clinic can plan the surgical and replacement stages together.

About this treatment

An extraction may be needed when a tooth is broken down beyond repair, severely infected, badly affected by gum disease, or impacted and unable to erupt properly — as is common with wisdom teeth. Teeth are also sometimes removed to relieve crowding before orthodontic treatment or as part of preparing the mouth for implants or dentures.
