Precise removal of benign skin lesions — skin tags, fibromas, warts, moles and similar surface growths — using the Multipulse high-power surgical CO2 laser at CLED. CO2 laser ablation offers layer-by-layer precision with minimal thermal spread to surrounding tissue, leaving a clean wound base that heals with minimal scarring compared to shave excision or electrosurgery. MUDr. Moskalyková also uses the Multipulse platform for transconjunctival blepharoplasty (eyelid rejuvenation) and as a non-surgical intervention for snoring.
The surgical CO2 laser emits at 10,600 nm — a wavelength absorbed almost entirely by tissue water. This near-total absorption means the laser energy is deposited in an extremely thin layer of tissue (the ablation zone) with very limited heat spread laterally or to underlying structures, giving the operating physician precise, depth-controlled removal of tissue with minimal collateral damage. In the hands of MUDr. Miloslava Moskalyková, who has operated CO2 platforms since co-founding one of the Czech Republic's first laser centres in 2003, this control translates into clean removal with consistently minimal post-treatment scarring. The Multipulse system at CLED uses pulsed CO2 delivery, which further limits thermal build-up compared to continuous-wave CO2 lasers. Each pulse removes a defined, reproducible layer of tissue, and the operator can assess the wound base after each pass and stop at exactly the correct depth — an advantage over surgical excision for superficial lesions, where the goal is to remove the lesion without entering the dermis. Common lesions treated include skin tags (acrochordons), seborrheic keratoses, epidermal fibromas, warts (verrucae), milial cysts and small dermal naevi. Before any removal MUDr. Moskalyková examines the lesion — dermoscopically if indicated — to confirm benign nature. Pigmented lesions with any atypical features are referred for excision and histopathological analysis rather than laser ablation, which would destroy the tissue and prevent diagnosis. For each removal, local anaesthetic is injected into the base of the lesion. The ablation itself takes one to five minutes per lesion depending on size. The wound is dressed, and a healing crust forms within 24 hours, separating over 10–14 days to reveal fresh pink skin that matures to normal skin colour over four to six weeks. Sun protection of the healing area with SPF 50+ is essential during this period to prevent post-inflammatory pigmentation. Beyond standard skin growth removal, the Multipulse platform at CLED enables transconjunctival blepharoplasty — removal of herniated orbital fat through the inner eyelid surface without an external incision, addressing lower eyelid puffiness — and treatment of tissue vibration contributing to snoring. These are specialist applications requiring individual assessment and consultation.
