Salmon Polynucleotides — PDRN Skin Rejuvenation

Type

Mesotherapy

Duration

25 min

Intradermal injection of salmon-derived polynucleotide (PDRN) gel at CLED — a viscoelastic, biocompatible DNA fragment preparation that hydrates and nourishes dermal fibroblasts, improving skin elasticity and firmness through a trophic rather than purely volumising mechanism. The single-use sterile gel is injected with a fine needle across any skin area including the delicate eye region, forehead, cheeks and full face. PDRN has documented effects on fibroblast proliferation and tissue repair, making it particularly useful for skin that is thin, damaged or slow to recover.

Polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN) is a purified, sterile preparation of DNA fragments derived from salmon (Oncorhynchus mykiss) gonads. The high structural similarity between salmon and human DNA allows PDRN to interact with adenosine A2A receptors on human cells, triggering anti-inflammatory and tissue-repair signalling pathways. The primary cellular effects are two-fold: first, a direct trophic stimulation of fibroblasts that increases their production of collagen, elastin and native hyaluronic acid; second, an anti-inflammatory modulation that reduces the chronic low-grade inflammation that accelerates skin ageing and impairs wound healing. At CLED the PDRN preparation is formulated as a viscoelastic gel — water, polynucleotides, salt and sodium phosphate in a sterile, non-pyrogenic single-use preparation. The gel consistency allows MUDr. Moskalyková to use a microinjection technique with a very fine needle, placing small depots precisely in the dermis across the treatment zone. Because the preparation is non-cross-linked and relatively low-viscosity, it integrates into the dermis without creating palpable lumps or surface irregularities — an important property when treating the delicate periorbital area (under-eye and upper eyelid zone), where other injectable preparations carry greater risk of nodule formation. Indications at CLED include thin or ageing skin with reduced elasticity, under-eye hollowing and skin quality decline, post-acne or post-inflammatory skin damage, skin recovery support after laser resurfacing or chemical peeling, and general facial rejuvenation for patients who prefer a natural, biologically derived product over synthetic fillers. Sessions take 20–30 minutes including preparation. Minor bleeding at injection points is expected — the thin needle enters the dermis multiple times across the zone. Bruising, if it occurs, typically resolves within a few days. The trophic and anti-inflammatory effects accumulate progressively across sessions: improvement in skin quality, hydration and elasticity becomes visible over two to three treatments, with each session reinforcing the previous. A course of three sessions spaced three to four weeks apart is a standard protocol, with maintenance sessions every six months thereafter. Contraindications include documented allergy to fish or fish products (rare but important to screen), autoimmune diseases, pregnancy and breastfeeding, active skin inflammation, and recent intense sun or cold exposure post-treatment.
