Fractional photothermolysis is the technique underlying MIXTO: instead of ablating the entire skin surface in a single pass, the laser beam is broken into thousands of fine microdots arranged in a precise grid. Preparation required
Avoid all sun exposure, self-tan and retinoid products for two weeks before each session. Use SPF 50+ for six weeks after. Do not treat during active acne flare or inflammatory skin infection. Discontinue isotretinoin at least six months before treatment.
