Superficial peels use low-concentration glycolic acid (AHA), mandelic acid or lactic acid, acting on the stratum corneum and granular layer. They produce mild erythema and flaking over two to three days; make-up can generally be worn from the next day. These are often incorporated into a monthly maintenance schedule for patients managing acne, hyperpigmentation, rosacea or general skin texture.

Preparation required
Stop retinoids and prescription acid products one week before the peel. Avoid significant sun exposure for two weeks before. Notify MUDr. Moskalyková of any history of cold sores — prophylactic antiviral will be prescribed.
