Autoimmune Health Panel

A 30-biomarker investigation panel screening for autoimmune activity and systemic inflammation. Measures ANA (antinuclear antibodies), ENA (extractable nuclear antigens), rheumatoid factor, anti-CCP, thyroid antibodies (TPOAb), ESR, CRP, hs-CRP, vitamin D, and a full blood count. Designed for people with chronic unexplained symptoms — joint pain, fatigue, rashes, inflammation — where autoimmune disease is suspected but not yet diagnosed.

Autoimmune diseases affect approximately 1 in 20 Australians, but diagnosis often takes years because symptoms overlap with common conditions and standard blood tests frequently appear normal. This panel screens for the antibody patterns that indicate autoimmune activity. ANA (antinuclear antibodies) is the primary screening marker — a positive ANA occurs in 95% of lupus cases, most systemic sclerosis, and many other autoimmune conditions. The ENA panel identifies specific antibody subtypes that help distinguish between conditions (anti-dsDNA for lupus, anti-Jo1 for myositis, anti-Ro/La for Sjögren's). Rheumatoid factor and anti-CCP together provide high specificity for rheumatoid arthritis. TPO antibodies (anti-thyroid peroxidase) detect Hashimoto's thyroiditis — the most common autoimmune disease and the leading cause of hypothyroidism — often years before thyroid hormone levels become abnormal. ESR and CRP quantify the degree of systemic inflammation, while hs-CRP adds cardiovascular risk stratification. Vitamin D is included because deficiency is both a risk factor for and consequence of autoimmune disease. A full blood count screens for anaemia of chronic disease and white cell abnormalities. This panel provides the data needed to guide further investigation with a rheumatologist or immunologist.
