Clean Market operates full-spectrum infrared saunas at its Midtown East and FiDi (Brookfield Place) locations, offering a heat-based wellness modality that differs fundamentally from traditional Finnish or steam saunas. Conventional saunas heat the air to high temperatures (typically 160°F–200°F) to warm the body from the outside in; full-spectrum infrared saunas emit radiant infrared light across near (NIR), mid (MIR), and far (FIR) infrared wavelengths that are absorbed directly by the skin and underlying tissues, generating warmth from within at lower ambient air temperatures — typically 120°F–150°F. This lower ambient temperature makes infrared sessions more comfortable and tolerable for longer durations for many users, while the deeper tissue penetration associated with infrared radiation is said to support more intense perspiration at lower external temperatures.
