Root canal treatment removes infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, cleans and seals the canals, and saves a tooth that might otherwise be lost. About this treatment
Inside every tooth is a soft core of nerve and blood vessels called the pulp. When this becomes infected or irreversibly inflamed — through deep decay, a crack or trauma — it can cause significant pain and, untreated, lead to an abscess. Root canal (endodontic) treatment relieves this by removing the diseased pulp, disinfecting and shaping the narrow canals inside the roots, and sealing them, allowing the natural tooth to be kept rather than extracted.
At ChilliDent root-canal treatment is carried out under a surgical operating microscope by dentists who concentrate on endodontics. The magnification and lighting help the clinician locate all the canals — including fine or hidden ones — clean them thoroughly and seal them well, which is central to a good long-term outcome.
