Veneers are wafer-thin facings, usually of porcelain, that are bonded to the visible surface of the front teeth to refine their colour, shape, length and overall harmony. They are a popular way to address discoloured, chipped, worn or slightly uneven front teeth, or to close small gaps, because they can transform the look of a smile while removing relatively little tooth structure compared with a crown. A small amount of enamel is usually prepared, impressions or a digital scan are taken, and the ceramicist fabricates veneers to the chosen shade; they are then bonded into place and polished. Full-ceramic porcelain veneers are priced per tooth, with a higher fee for teeth in the central aesthetic zone, where the demands on shaping and shade-matching are greatest and the result is most scrutinised. As a more conservative or lower-cost route — useful for minor reshaping or a single tooth — the clinic also offers direct composite bonding, where tooth-coloured resin is sculpted onto the tooth and cured in one appointment.
