Dental CBCT / Panoramic Imaging

Type

CT Scan

Duration

20 min

ChilliDent has on-site digital radiology, including cone-beam CT (CBCT) and panoramic imaging, so diagnosis and treatment planning happen in one place. A CBCT scan produces a detailed 3D view of the teeth, jawbone and surrounding structures, which is especially valuable for planning implants, assessing impacted teeth and complex root canals. Lower-dose panoramic and single-tooth X-rays are also available for everyday diagnosis.

Good dentistry depends on seeing what lies beneath the surface, and ChilliDent provides a full range of digital imaging within the clinic. The most detailed option is cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), which captures a three-dimensional image of the teeth, roots, jawbone, nerves and sinuses. This 3D detail is particularly useful for planning dental implants — judging bone height, width and the position of important structures — as well as for assessing impacted wisdom teeth, investigating complex or unusual root-canal anatomy, and evaluating cysts or other findings. CBCT can be taken of a single jaw, both jaws together, or focused on one tooth in a high-resolution small-field mode, keeping the imaging proportionate to what is needed. For broader, lower-dose views, a digital panoramic (pantomographic) X-ray gives a single wide image of all the teeth and both jaws in one pass — a useful overview for general assessment, checking wisdom teeth or reviewing overall bone levels. Small intraoral (RVG) sensors capture close-up detail of individual teeth for diagnosing decay or checking root fillings. Having this equipment on site means scans can be taken and reviewed during the same visit, supporting faster, better-informed treatment decisions and reducing the need to send patients elsewhere. Imaging is requested when clinically justified, with the type chosen to suit the question being answered; the dental team will explain why a particular scan is recommended and how it informs your plan.
