A porcelain veneer is a thin, custom ceramic shell bonded to the front of a tooth to improve its colour, shape or alignment, used mainly to enhance the appearance of the smile line. Made to a chosen shade in the clinic's prosthetics workshop, veneers can close small gaps, even out worn or chipped edges and brighten teeth that do not respond to whitening. They are typically planned as a set across the visible front teeth.
