The process is fast and non-invasive: you stand or sit still for a short rotation of the scanner, typically lasting under a minute of actual exposure, and there is no recovery time. The resulting data is essential for accurate implant placement, where it is used to plan the position, angle and depth of each implant and to confirm there is sufficient bone, and it is equally valuable before surgical extractions or advanced endodontic work. A simpler panoramic (pantomogram) X-ray is also available for routine overviews at lower cost.
