Device Lymphatic Drainage

Pneumatic compression-based lymphatic drainage using medical devices at CPM Pavla Koláře, complementing manual lymph massage with mechanical pressure wave stimulation along the limbs and trunk. The device applies sequential compression through a multi-chamber suit, systematically moving fluid from the extremities towards the core lymph nodes. Particularly effective for post-surgical oedema, chronic venous and lymphatic insufficiency, and recovery acceleration. Often combined with 30 minutes of preceding manual lymph work as part of a bundled pack.

Device-based lymphatic drainage uses pneumatic compression technology to apply sequential, directional pressure along the limbs and trunk, mechanically assisting the movement of lymph fluid towards the proximal lymph node groups. The treatment uses a multi-chamber garment — covering the legs, abdomen, or arms — that inflates in a controlled wave sequence from the periphery inward, simulating the peristaltic-like flow that would normally be driven by the intrinsic smooth muscle contractions of the lymphatic wall. At CPM Pavla Koláře the device drainage is available as a standalone 500 Kč session or as part of a bundled pack that pairs 30 minutes of preparatory manual lymphatic drainage — which opens the proximal nodes and pathways — with 60 minutes of device drainage for a comprehensive combined effect. This combination is more effective than either modality alone because the manual work prepares the receiving node groups before the device treatment delivers its volume of fluid. The treatment may support recovery from post-surgical swelling in the limbs (particularly following knee, hip, or ankle orthopaedic procedures), chronic venous and lymphatic insufficiency, heavy-leg syndrome, prevention of deep vein thrombosis in high-risk patients under medical supervision, and post-training fluid accumulation in athletes with high training loads. The pneumatic compression sensation is mild and rhythmic — most clients find it comfortable and relaxing. Each cycle of the device takes approximately 20–30 minutes, with the full session typically running around 60 minutes for the device portion alone or 90 minutes combined with manual work.
