Laser Wrinkle Smoothing

Type

Laser Therapy (HILT)

Duration

45 min

Laser wrinkle smoothing delivers focused laser energy into the dermis to reduce the depth of established wrinkles and expression lines. The thermal energy denatures and remodels existing collagen fibres while triggering new collagen synthesis, gradually tightening and plumping the skin from within to soften visible lines.

Laser wrinkle smoothing is a targeted application of laser energy to address established facial wrinkles — the static lines that remain visible even at rest, as distinct from dynamic expression lines treated with botulinum toxin. These include perioral lines (the vertical lines around the mouth), nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and generalised mid-dermal wrinkling caused by collagen depletion and reduced skin elasticity with age. The mechanism of action is thermal collagen remodelling. Laser energy delivered into the dermis creates controlled thermal damage to collagen fibres within the treatment zone. This thermal effect has two phases of benefit. In the immediate phase, existing collagen fibres contract as their triple-helix structure partially denatures under heat, producing an immediate mild tightening. In the delayed phase — which extends from three to six months post-treatment — the thermal injury activates fibroblasts into a repair response, stimulating the synthesis of new collagen type I and III to replace and reinforce the treated tissue. Over successive sessions, this accumulated new collagen gradually reduces wrinkle depth and improves skin firmness. At CBP Klinika Brno, laser wrinkle smoothing is applied with settings calibrated to the specific wrinkle zones being treated. Deeper wrinkles in the perioral region or nasolabial area require different energy parameters from fine superficial lines on the upper lip or cheek. The practitioner makes multiple systematic passes over each wrinkle zone, and the skin is cooled continuously or between passes to protect the epidermis and manage patient comfort. Downtime after laser wrinkle smoothing varies with treatment depth: superficial settings produce redness lasting one to two days; more aggressive parameters can result in redness, crusting, and dryness for three to seven days. Sun protection is essential during the weeks following treatment as treated skin is more susceptible to UV-induced pigmentation. A course of three to six sessions produces progressive and compounding wrinkle reduction, with each session building on the collagen remodelling triggered by the previous one.
