The full-body MRI at Capio Privathospital provides radiation-free cross-sectional imaging of virtually every major organ system in a single session lasting approximately 75 minutes. The scan is performed on one of the Hellerup campus's two Philips 1.5-Tesla MRI scanners, installed in late 2022, each featuring a 70-centimetre bore opening that accommodates a wider range of body types and reduces claustrophobia compared to older narrow-bore designs. The imaging protocol covers the brain, heart, lungs, spinal cord, vertebrae, bone marrow, lymph nodes, thyroid, liver, gallbladder, kidneys, adrenal glands, spleen, pancreas, bladder, uterus and ovaries or testicles, connective tissue, and hips. This breadth of coverage enables detection of structural abnormalities, masses, and organ changes across body systems in a single visit — findings that might otherwise require multiple specialist referrals and separate imaging appointments. The process begins with a pre-scan video consultation where the radiologist reviews your health history and explains the procedure. After the scan, two experienced radiologists independently review the images before results are discussed in a post-scan video consultation. This dual-review protocol reduces the risk of missed findings and is a meaningful quality safeguard that not all screening providers offer. Contrast medium injection is available as an optional addition for enhanced tissue characterisation, and sedation can be arranged for patients with claustrophobia.
