Type
Full Body Checkup
Duration
2 hours
A comprehensive health assessment designed specifically for adults aged 65 and over, combining extensive blood testing with physical examinations tailored to age-related health concerns. The two-hour appointment includes a resting ECG, advanced blood panel covering biochemistry, full blood count, vitamin B12, folate, kidney and liver function, and thyroid markers, plus hearing assessment, musculoskeletal evaluation with grip strength testing, cancer screening, and 60 minutes with a GP.
The Mature Health assessment addresses the specific health priorities that become more relevant from age 65 onwards. While many of the core measurements overlap with Bupa's other comprehensive packages, this assessment adds clinical elements specifically chosen for their relevance to ageing well — hearing assessment, musculoskeletal function testing, grip strength measurement, and expanded blood markers that screen for conditions more prevalent in older adults. The blood panel is notably broader than the mid-tier packages, adding vitamin B12 and folate (deficiencies become more common with age and can affect cognition and energy), dedicated kidney function markers, liver function tests, thyroid screening, and a full blood count. Urinalysis and a faecal occult blood test provide additional screening for kidney, bladder, and bowel health. The resting ECG and heart rhythm screening assess cardiac electrical function, which is particularly relevant given the increased prevalence of atrial fibrillation and other arrhythmias in older populations. The musculoskeletal assessment goes beyond a simple flexibility check — it includes functional tests such as walking assessment and grip strength measurement, which are increasingly recognised as powerful indicators of overall health status and longevity in older adults. Cancer screening covers prostate, testicular, breast, and cervical examinations as appropriate. The full 60-minute GP consultation provides ample time to discuss results, address multiple health concerns, and develop a personalised action plan. Twelve months of coaching support, HealthLine access, and app-based tracking round out the package.
