The Nefertiti Lift at Bona Dea is an advanced application of botulinum toxin that addresses jawline definition and early neck ageing — areas that standard upper-face Botox does not reach. The technique is named after the Egyptian queen Nefertiti, celebrated for her defined jawline and elongated neck. The treatment works by targeting the platysma, a broad sheet-like muscle that extends from the collarbone up across the jawline and lower face. As the platysma contracts over time, it exerts a downward pull on the lower face and jaw, contributing to jowling, loss of jawline definition, and visible vertical neck bands. By placing strategic micro-injections of botulinum toxin along the inferior border of the mandible and into the prominent platysma bands, the physician reduces this downward traction. The result is a subtle but visible lifting effect: the jawline appears sharper, the jowl area tightens, and the neck bands soften. The treatment takes approximately 30 minutes and requires a detailed assessment of platysma activity — the physician asks the patient to clench the jaw and grimace to map the most active muscle bands before marking injection points. Typically 20 to 40 units of toxin are distributed across 10 to 15 injection sites along each side of the jaw and upper neck.
