More accurate than formula-based estimates (Harris-Benedict, Mifflin-St Jeor) because it measures real metabolic rate rather than predicting it from weight and age. Results may support calorie target setting, nutrition planning, and understanding why weight management is unexpectedly easy or difficult. Takes approximately ten minutes. Often combined with a DEXA scan for a complete body composition and metabolism assessment.
