Thread lifting uses fine barbed or coned sutures — in this case the Princess LIFT system — to mechanically reposition facial tissue that has descended with age. The threads are inserted through tiny entry points using a cannula, then gently pulled to lift and secure the overlying soft tissue into a more youthful position. Because Princess LIFT threads are biodegradable (typically polydioxanone or similar absorbable material), they gradually dissolve over twelve to eighteen months — but not before stimulating a fibrotic response around each thread that deposits new collagen and sustains the lift for a further period. Clinical results typically last two to three years in total. The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia; no general anaesthetic, incisions, or hospitalisation are required.
