Breast Surgery
Duration

Surgical reduction and reshaping of overly large breasts to relieve chronic neck, back, and shoulder pain, improve posture, and address the psychological burden of macromastia. BODY klinika's plastic surgeons choose from three techniques — the Lejour single-scar method for moderate reductions, the L-technique for moderate-to-large volume, and the anchor method for very large reductions — selecting whichever leaves the best scar outcome for the patient's anatomy. Surgery is under general anaesthesia with 1–2 nights hospitalisation and around-the-clock physician support. Czech health insurance may contribute when medical necessity is certified. Starting from 86,000 Kč.
Breast reduction — reduction mammaplasty — removes excess glandular tissue, fat, and skin from the breast while repositioning the nipple-areola complex to a more anatomically appropriate height. The aim is a smaller, lifted breast that is proportionate to the patient's frame and free of the weight-related symptoms that commonly accompany macromastia: chronic neck and upper back pain, shoulder grooving from bra straps, intertrigo in the breast fold, and difficulty exercising. BODY klinika's plastic surgeons select the operative technique after assessing how much tissue needs to be removed and what scar pattern will give the cleanest result. The Lejour technique leaves a single vertical scar below the nipple and is suitable for moderate reductions. The L-technique adds a short horizontal limb into the inframammary fold for larger volumes. The anchor (Wise pattern) technique — a vertical scar plus a full horizontal fold scar — is reserved for the most significant reductions where superior skin tightening is needed. Internal sutures close the deeper layers; the skin is closed with absorbable sutures to minimise scar width. Surgery takes place under general anaesthesia with one to two nights of in-clinic hospitalisation, a physician available around the clock, and nursing care throughout. Discharge is followed by six or more weeks in a compression bra day and night; vigorous sports are restricted for eight to ten weeks. Sea swimming and submersion are avoided for six weeks. Most patients find childcare manageable within a week of discharge. Czech public health insurance may cover part of the cost when macromastia causes documented medical symptoms — the clinic advises obtaining referral letters from a neurologist, orthopaedist, and mammologist before applying. Starting from 86,000 Kč for the complete surgical package.
