A focused female hormone panel measuring estradiol, SHBG, FSH/LH, prolactin, progesterone, and testosterone. Useful for investigating menstrual irregularities, fertility concerns, perimenopause symptoms, or monitoring hormone replacement therapy.
This panel measures the six key hormones that regulate female reproductive health and overall hormonal balance: estradiol, SHBG, FSH, LH, prolactin, progesterone, and testosterone. These markers interact as a system, and testing them together provides context that individual tests cannot. Estradiol is the primary circulating oestrogen and fluctuates significantly throughout the menstrual cycle. FSH and LH from the pituitary gland drive ovarian function — an elevated FSH relative to LH may suggest diminished ovarian reserve and is one of the earliest markers of approaching menopause. Progesterone, when tested in the luteal phase (around day 21), confirms whether ovulation has occurred and assesses the adequacy of the luteal phase for supporting early pregnancy. Prolactin is included because elevated levels can disrupt menstrual cycles and suppress ovulation, even in women who appear otherwise healthy. SHBG affects how much estradiol and testosterone are biologically available — low SHBG is associated with conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), while elevated SHBG may reduce the effective hormone levels reaching tissues. Testosterone, though primarily considered a male hormone, plays an important role in female energy levels, muscle maintenance, and libido. Timing the blood draw within the menstrual cycle is important for meaningful interpretation. The clinic can advise on optimal timing based on the specific clinical question — whether that is fertility assessment, cycle irregularity, or perimenopause evaluation.
