Hormone Testing
Duration
20 min
Biograph includes a comprehensive women's hormone panel in all membership tiers, measuring estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, FSH, LH, DHEA-S, and thyroid function. Men's metabolic and hormonal context is assessed through the advanced metabolic blood panel. Hormone results are reviewed by the medical team alongside metabolic, bone density, and clinical findings to guide personalised recommendations for hormonal optimisation and monitoring.
Hormone assessment at Biograph is integrated directly into the blood panel suite that every member receives on their annual visit day. The women's hormone panel is a clinically comprehensive evaluation of the major sex hormones and adrenal androgen: estradiol (the primary oestrogen, relevant for bone protection, cardiovascular health, cognitive function, and reproductive status), progesterone (evaluated in the context of the menstrual cycle phase or post-menopausal baseline), total and free testosterone (relevant for libido, muscle mass, energy, and mood in women as well as men), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinising hormone (LH) — pituitary signals whose elevation may indicate ovarian reserve decline or perimenopause — and DHEA-sulphate, an adrenal androgen that serves as a marker of adrenal reserve and is often used in longevity contexts as a supplementable biomarker. Thyroid function testing — TSH and where indicated free T4 and free T3 — is also included, as thyroid dysfunction is common and can drive fatigue, weight changes, cognitive fog, and cardiovascular risk if undetected. Results are reviewed by Dr. Jim Lebret and the medical team in the context of the member's full metabolic, body composition, and brain health data, allowing a nuanced interpretation that distinguishes hormonal changes that warrant intervention from those within expected biological variation. For members nearing or in perimenopause, findings may prompt referral for hormone replacement therapy evaluation. For men, sex hormone biomarkers including total and free testosterone, SHBG, and oestradiol may be assessed as part of the advanced metabolic panel based on clinical context and member history. Black-tier mid-year follow-up labs allow trajectory monitoring for members starting interventions based on initial hormone findings.
