Blood Testing
Duration
30 min
Biograph's blood testing suite encompasses six to seven specialist panels drawn as part of every member visit: advanced cardiovascular blood panel, advanced metabolic blood panel, advanced brain health blood panel, fatty acid balance test, nutrition and micronutrient panel, and women's hormone panel. Black members additionally receive a blood-based multi-cancer early detection (MCED) test. All results are reviewed by the Biograph medical team alongside imaging and functional assessments to build a complete picture of metabolic and cardiovascular risk.
The blood testing component of Biograph membership goes substantially beyond a standard annual blood draw. Members receive a curated set of specialist panels, each targeting a distinct physiological domain. The advanced cardiovascular blood panel covers traditional lipid markers plus extended cardiovascular risk biomarkers such as apolipoprotein B, Lp(a), hs-CRP, homocysteine, and oxidised LDL — markers that may not appear in a standard lipid screen but are associated with cardiovascular event risk. The advanced metabolic blood panel addresses insulin sensitivity, liver function, inflammatory markers, uric acid, and additional metabolic risk factors beyond fasting glucose and standard HbA1c. The advanced brain health blood panel includes emerging neuro-specific biomarkers associated with neurodegeneration, including plasma phospho-tau, GFAP, and neurofilament light chain — markers that may detect early neurological changes years before clinical symptoms. The fatty acid balance test evaluates the omega-3 to omega-6 ratio and specific fatty acid profiles associated with inflammatory risk. The nutrition and micronutrient panel assesses levels of key vitamins (D, B12, folate), minerals (magnesium, zinc, selenium), and coenzymes that are frequently suboptimal even in apparently healthy adults. The women's hormone panel measures estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, FSH, LH, DHEA-S, and thyroid function in a clinically relevant hormonal context. For Black members, the blood multi-cancer early detection (MCED) test uses next-generation sequencing to detect circulating tumour DNA fragments associated with 50+ cancer types from a single blood draw. All panels are interpreted by the Biograph medical team in the context of imaging, functional, and genetic data to produce an integrated clinical picture.
