Abdominoplasty / Tummy Tuck (Plastika břicha)

Type

Tummy Tuck

Duration

3 hours

Abdominoplasty at BEAUTY – plastická chirurgie corrects the loose, excess abdominal skin and weakened muscles that typically follow pregnancy or significant weight loss. MUDr. Šorma performs both mini and full abdominoplasty under general anaesthesia with one-day hospitalisation. The full procedure removes excess skin from the lower abdomen, tightens the rectus abdominis muscles if separated (diastasis recti), and repositions the navel; the mini version addresses the lower segment below the navel with a shorter scar and less tissue disruption. A combined option pairing mini abdominoplasty with abdominal liposuction is also available for patients with both excess skin and stubborn fat deposits.

The abdominal wall changes associated with pregnancy are distinct from simple weight-related skin laxity. During pregnancy, both the overlying skin and the rectus abdominis muscles stretch to accommodate the growing uterus. After delivery, the skin — which has undergone significant mechanical stretching — may not regain its pre-pregnancy tightness, particularly in women who have had multiple pregnancies or whose genetics predispose them to poor elastin recovery. Simultaneously, the linea alba (the connective tissue midline between the paired rectus muscles) can stretch and thin, causing diastasis recti: a separation that produces a characteristic bulge when the abdominal muscles are engaged. Abdominoplasty addresses both components. In a full abdominoplasty MUDr. Šorma makes a low transverse incision across the lower abdomen, positioned to fall within the underwear or swimwear line. The abdominal skin from this incision to the navel is elevated, and the excess lower abdominal skin is excised. The navel is retained on its fascial stalk and brought out through a new opening at the appropriate level on the tightened skin. Where diastasis recti is present, the separated muscle edges are approximated with deep sutures along the full midline, restoring the core support function of the abdominal wall. The skin is then redraped and closed under moderate tension. A shorter variant — the mini abdominoplasty — restricts the incision and skin removal to the lower abdominal zone below the navel, without navel repositioning, and is suitable for patients whose excess tissue is limited to this region. For patients who have both skin laxity and localised fat deposits in the flanks or upper abdomen not corrected by the excision, mini abdominoplasty can be combined with tumescence-based liposuction of those areas in the same surgical session. This combination is offered as a separate price tier. All abdominoplasty procedures are performed under general anaesthesia. One-day hospitalisation is included — patients are admitted the morning of surgery and monitored overnight. Post-operative care involves strict wound management per surgeon's instructions, wearing an abdominal compression garment for several weeks, and restricted physical activity: walking is encouraged from day two, but strenuous exercise and lifting are deferred for four to six weeks. Final results are assessed at three to six months once all swelling has resolved. The procedure can partially address stretch marks within the excised skin zone; marks above the navel are unaffected. Weight changes after surgery can alter the result, so MUDr. Šorma advises achieving a stable weight before booking.
