Mastopexy / Breast Lift (Modelace poklesu poprsí)

Type

Breast Surgery

Duration

3 hours

Mastopexy at BEAUTY – plastická chirurgie lifts and reshapes breasts that have descended and lost firmness due to pregnancy, nursing, weight changes, or natural ageing. MUDr. Šorma offers three scar-pattern variants — circumareolar (smallest), vertical, and anchor-shaped — matched to the degree of ptosis present. The procedure is performed under general anaesthesia with one-day hospitalisation. Where excess breast volume also needs addressing, mastopexy can be combined with reduction in the same surgical session. Sports can resume at four weeks; full athletic activity at six weeks.

Breast ptosis — the medical term for descended, sagging breasts — is graded by the position of the nipple-areola complex relative to the inframammary fold. Mild ptosis describes a nipple at or slightly below the fold; severe ptosis has the nipple pointing downward, well below the fold, with the majority of breast volume in the lower pole. The degree of ptosis, combined with the amount of excess skin and the patient's skin quality, determines which mastopexy technique will achieve the most natural, durable result. MUDr. Šorma selects from three surgical approaches at BEAUTY – plastická chirurgie. The circumareolar mastopexy (also called the Benelli or round-block technique) places the scar only around the areola; it is appropriate for mild ptosis and produces the least visible scarring, but is limited in the degree of correction it can achieve and may flatten the projection of the breast if used for more advanced ptosis. The vertical (lollipop) mastopexy adds a vertical scar from the lower areola edge to the inframammary fold; it reshapes the lower breast pole and provides moderate-to-significant lift without a horizontal inframammary scar. The anchor-shaped (inverted-T) mastopexy adds a horizontal scar along the inframammary fold; it provides the greatest degree of correction and is used for significant ptosis or when substantial skin must be excised. MUDr. Šorma recommends the technique based on pre-operative assessment of ptosis grade and skin quality, with the goal of minimising scarring while achieving full correction. Where the patient also has excess breast volume contributing to sagging — rather than simple skin laxity with adequate volume — mastopexy can be combined with a reduction mammaplasty in the same surgical session. This combination removes excess glandular tissue while simultaneously lifting and reshaping the breast, and is priced as a separate tier. The procedure is performed under general anaesthesia with one-day hospitalisation: the patient is admitted the morning of surgery and monitored overnight at the Poliklinika Trnová facility. Wound healing takes two to three weeks; sports activity is permitted at four weeks; full athletic activity at six weeks. A specialised post-operative bra is worn throughout recovery. Scars are red and somewhat prominent initially but fade progressively over twelve to eighteen months. Patients who are planning further pregnancies are advised to defer mastopexy, as pregnancy and nursing can cause recurrent ptosis.
