Surgical enlargement employs the V-Y mucosal advancement technique, permanently enlarging the visible red lip border of the upper lip without implants. Post-operatively, patients follow a soft diet and meticulous oral hygiene for two to three weeks while the internal mucosal sutures heal. Swelling peaks at days two to three and largely resolves within two to three weeks. For patients seeking reversible, tunable results — adding subtle projection, defining the cupid's bow, or restoring volume lost with age — hyaluronic acid filler is the preferred route. The clinic uses Stylage Special Lips with Lidocaine, a high-density cross-linked HA formulated for lip tissue that incorporates anaesthetic into the gel, reducing discomfort during injection.
