Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

Type

PRP/PRF Therapy

Duration

1 hour

Platelet-rich plasma uses a small sample of your own blood, spun to concentrate its platelets and growth factors, which is then re-introduced into the skin to support natural repair and rejuvenation. Because it is autologous — derived entirely from you — it is well tolerated. Beauty Medicine also offers platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) and a combined PLASMOO treatment that pairs plasma and fibrin for a stronger regenerative effect.

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is a regenerative treatment that uses your blood's own healing components. A small sample is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelets, which carry growth factors that signal tissue repair and collagen production. This concentrated plasma is then re-introduced into the skin to support rejuvenation of tone, texture and firmness in a natural way. At the studio the full process — blood draw, preparation and treatment — takes around forty-five to sixty minutes, with numbing applied for comfort. Because the material is entirely your own, there is no risk of reaction to a foreign substance, which makes the treatment popular with clients who prefer a natural approach; expect only mild redness or small bruises for a day or two. Results build gradually as the skin renews, so a short course of sessions a few weeks apart is recommended, with occasional maintenance. Beauty Medicine offers three related options: standard PRP, platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) which releases growth factors more slowly, and a combined PLASMOO treatment pairing plasma and fibrin. These autologous treatments are well suited to dull or tired skin and can complement mesotherapy and microneedling. Suitability is assessed at consultation and the treatment is avoided in pregnancy and in certain blood or clotting conditions.
