Dedicated prostate MRI for detection and characterisation of prostate lesions. Multiparametric protocol for PI-RADS assessment to guide biopsy decisions.

The prostate MRI at Bader-MR uses a dedicated multiparametric protocol combining T2-weighted anatomical sequences, diffusion-weighted imaging with ADC mapping, and dynamic contrast-enhanced sequences. This approach follows PI-RADS standards, with each identified lesion scored on the 1-5 scale to estimate the probability of clinically significant cancer. At EUR 450 the prostate MRI includes contrast agent administration. The examination is commonly requested for men with elevated PSA levels, those under active surveillance for low-grade prostate cancer, and as pre-biopsy planning to improve targeting accuracy with MRI-TRUS fusion techniques. The practice's experience with both 1.5T and 3T scanners allows selection of the most appropriate field strength for each patient. The 3T scanner provides superior resolution for prostate imaging where the improved signal-to-noise ratio aids detection of small transition zone lesions.
