MRI Scan
Duration
25 min
Native MRI of the lumbosacral spine covering L1-S1 discs, nerve roots, cauda equina, and facet joints. The most frequently requested spinal examination for lower back pain.
The lumbosacral spine MRI provides detailed imaging of the lumbar vertebrae, intervertebral discs, spinal canal, and neural foramina from L1 through S1. The protocol includes sagittal T1, T2, and STIR sequences plus axial T2-weighted images through each disc level. The radiologist documents disc morphology at every level, grades central and foraminal stenosis, and notes facet joint and ligamentum flavum hypertrophy. The STIR sequence detects bone marrow oedema from acute fractures, infection, or inflammatory spondyloarthropathy. Priced at EUR 290 as a single spinal section. For patients needing combined lumbar and sacral assessment, a lumbar + sacrum package is available at EUR 320. The entire spine (cervical + thoracic + lumbar) can be scanned in one session for EUR 650.
