MRI of the thorax covering chest wall, mediastinum, and lung parenchyma. Radiation-free alternative for thoracic assessment in selected clinical scenarios.
The thorax MRI at Bader-MR provides cross-sectional imaging of the chest wall, mediastinal structures, and lung parenchyma without ionising radiation. While CT remains the primary modality for most thoracic indications, MRI offers superior soft-tissue contrast for chest wall masses, mediastinal lesions, and assessment of pleural disease. The examination is particularly useful for evaluating chest wall tumours and their relationship to adjacent structures, posterior mediastinal masses (including neurogenic tumours), characterisation of pleural effusions and pleural masses, and follow-up of known thoracic lesions where radiation dose is a concern. Emerging lung MRI sequences also show promise for nodule detection in specific populations. Priced at EUR 290 as a single-region scan. This fills an important gap for patients needing thoracic imaging who wish to avoid radiation exposure from CT scanning.
