Botulinum Toxin (Anti-Wrinkle) Treatment

Botulinum toxin injections temporarily relax the muscles that create dynamic expression lines, softening frown lines, forehead lines and crow's feet. Botulinum toxin is an injectable treatment that temporarily reduces the activity of specific facial muscles. By easing how strongly a muscle contracts, the skin over it creases less, so dynamic lines — those that appear with movement, such as frown lines between the brows, horizontal forehead lines and crow's feet at the eyes — are softened. The effect is targeted to the chosen areas while leaving natural expression elsewhere intact. At Centrum Medyczne AURUM the treatment is delivered as a brief appointment using a very fine needle, with the number of areas agreed beforehand: one area is 550 zł, two areas 1,050 zł and three areas 1,550 zł. Results are not immediate — movement begins to soften after a few days and settles over about two weeks, typically lasting three to four months before gradually returning, at which point the treatment can be repeated. The same botulinum-toxin injections are also used medically to treat hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating); for the underarms, treating both armpits is priced at 2,000 zł and is associated with a marked reduction in sweating for several months. Botulinum-toxin treatment is for adults and is not given during pregnancy or breastfeeding; suitability, realistic expectations and any contraindications are reviewed before treatment.
