Type
MRI Scan
Duration
1 hour
Magnetic resonance imaging scan available through ATA Medical's partner radiology facility. MRI provides detailed cross-sectional images of soft tissues, organs, and joints without ionising radiation. Available for brain, spine, musculoskeletal, and abdominal regions, with pricing varying by body area scanned.
ATA Medical offers MRI scanning through a partner radiology clinic, providing access to high-field magnetic resonance imaging as part of their broader diagnostic screening services. The MRI is available from a starting price that covers single-region scans, with pricing adjusted based on the body area examined and whether contrast enhancement is required. MRI uses strong magnetic fields and radiofrequency pulses to generate detailed images of internal structures without the ionising radiation associated with CT scanning. This makes it particularly suitable for repeated screening and for imaging regions where soft tissue contrast is critical — the brain, spinal cord, joints, ligaments, and abdominal organs all benefit from the superior soft tissue resolution that MRI provides compared to other imaging modalities. Brain MRI evaluates the cerebral parenchyma for masses, ischaemic changes, white matter lesions, and structural abnormalities. Spine MRI assesses intervertebral discs, spinal cord integrity, and nerve root compression — common indications include chronic back pain, neck pain, and radiculopathy. Musculoskeletal MRI evaluates joints, tendons, and ligaments, with the knee and shoulder being the most frequently scanned regions. Abdominal MRI provides detailed views of the liver, pancreas, kidneys, and other organs, with particular sensitivity for liver lesions and biliary pathology. The scan itself typically takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on the region and sequences required. Participants lie inside the scanner bore, which can feel confined for some individuals — the clinic can advise on options for those with claustrophobia concerns. Metallic implants and certain medical devices may preclude MRI scanning; a safety screening questionnaire is completed before every scan. MRI results are interpreted by a radiologist and returned as a structured report, typically within two to three business days. The report can be integrated into a broader ATA Medical health screening or delivered as a standalone diagnostic result. A doctor consultation is available for result interpretation and follow-up planning. This service is available through ATA Medical's Tanjong Pagar, Orchard, and Novena locations via the partner radiology facility. MRI is not available at the Jurong location.
