Dental X-rays let the dentist see what is hidden between and beneath the teeth — decay under fillings, the roots and surrounding bone, and the position of unerupted teeth. ASP Stomatologia offers both a small spot (periapical) image focused on a single tooth and a wide panoramic image of the whole jaw. They are a quick, low-dose way to support an accurate diagnosis and plan treatments such as root canals, extractions or prosthetics.

Dental radiographs are an essential diagnostic tool because much of a tooth and its supporting structures cannot be seen during a visual examination alone. At ASP Stomatologia a spot or periapical X-ray captures a detailed view of one or two teeth, including the roots and the bone immediately around them, which is valuable when investigating pain, assessing a tooth for root canal treatment or checking a restoration. A panoramic X-ray, by contrast, produces a single broad image of the entire upper and lower jaw, the sinuses and the temporomandibular joints, giving an overview that helps when planning extractions, prosthetic work or treatment across multiple teeth. The images are taken quickly and use a low dose of radiation with appropriate protective measures. Having current radiographs allows the dentist to identify problems such as decay between teeth, infection at the root tip, bone loss from gum disease or impacted teeth that would otherwise be missed, and to explain findings to you more clearly. The dentist decides which type of image is appropriate based on your symptoms and the planned treatment, and X-rays are only taken when they add useful information. Results are reviewed with you so that any recommended treatment is grounded in what the imaging shows.
