Computerised tomography (CT) at AsiaMedic harnesses advanced multi-detector scanner technology to produce cross-sectional images of body structures with exceptional speed and clarity. CT uses X-ray beams at multiple angles combined with computer reconstruction to generate detailed axial, coronal, and sagittal views, allowing clinicians to identify pathology that plain X-rays cannot resolve. AsiaMedic's scanners are described as enabling faster throughput with enhanced picture quality, reducing scan times and minimising the need for repeat imaging. Brain CT is among the most frequently performed studies, providing rapid and reliable assessment of intracranial haemorrhage, stroke, head trauma, intracranial masses, and cerebral abscesses. It is the investigation of choice in emergency and urgent clinical presentations where MRI is not practical. CT of the chest and trunk is used for tumour localisation, biopsy planning, thoracic and abdominal organ assessment, and staging of known or suspected malignancy. AsiaMedic's most clinically significant CT offering is the CT Coronary Angiogram (CTCA), which is included in the Longevity Screening Package and higher-tier Navigator programmes. CTCA is a non-invasive method of evaluating the coronary arteries for plaque build-up and stenosis, providing detailed anatomical imaging of the cardiac vasculature without the need for conventional invasive catheter angiography. This is particularly valuable for individuals at intermediate cardiovascular risk who have not yet had a cardiac event. The Low-Dose CT Lung Scan (LDCT) is also available and is the recommended screening modality for early-stage lung cancer detection in individuals with a smoking history or elevated occupational exposure risk. Studies show LDCT reduces lung cancer mortality by 20% compared to chest X-ray alone. Total scan time at AsiaMedic is typically 30 to 45 minutes, with patients advised to allocate approximately 3 hours for their appointment including preparation and post-scan review.
