Root canal treatment saves a tooth whose inner pulp has become irreversibly inflamed or infected. ArtisMed performs it under local anaesthetic with X-ray guidance, cleaning and shaping the canals before sealing them, so the natural tooth can be kept rather than extracted. Single- and multi-canal teeth are treated, and the tooth is rebuilt afterwards with a filling or, where needed, prepared for a crown to protect it long term.
About this treatment
Endodontic (root canal) treatment is needed when the soft tissue inside a tooth — the pulp, which contains its nerve and blood supply — becomes irreversibly inflamed or dies, usually through deep decay, a crack or trauma. Left untreated this can cause severe toothache and abscesses.
