PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is a regenerative skin treatment that uses your own blood's healing components. A small sample is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelets, which are rich in growth factors that signal tissue repair, collagen and elastin production and the formation of new microvessels. This concentrated plasma is then injected into the skin or worked in with microneedling to revitalise tone, texture and firmness — the technique popularly known as the vampire facial. At ArtisMed the process of blood draw, preparation and treatment takes around forty-five to sixty minutes, with numbing cream applied for comfort. Because the material is entirely your own, there is no risk of an allergic reaction to a foreign substance, which makes PRP a natural-feeling option for people who prefer to avoid synthetic products. Expect mild redness or the odd small bruise for a day or two. Results build gradually as collagen remodels over the following weeks, so a course of around three sessions spaced a few weeks apart is typically recommended, with maintenance once or twice a year.
