Dr Andrew Cheah performs surgical facelift procedures to address facial laxity, jowling, and neck sagging, repositioning deeper facial tissues to restore a naturally youthful and refreshed facial appearance with results that last years.
About this treatment
Facelift surgery (rhytidectomy) at Artisan Aesthetic & Plastic Surgery targets the visible signs of facial ageing that cannot be adequately corrected with non-surgical treatments: descended cheek fat pads, jowl formation, deep nasolabial folds, and sagging neck skin and muscle (platysmal banding).
Dr Andrew Cheah performs the procedure using techniques that reposition the underlying SMAS (superficial musculoaponeurotic system) layer — the structural foundation of the face — rather than simply pulling and tightening skin. This deep-plane or composite approach produces more natural, longer-lasting results and avoids the telltale 'windswept' appearance associated with skin-only techniques.
The procedure is tailored to the patient's specific anatomy and degree of facial ageing. A full facelift addresses the mid-face, jowls, and neck comprehensively. A mini facelift uses shorter incisions to target earlier-stage jowling with a faster recovery. Neck lift may be performed concurrently to address platysmal bands and submental fat.
