Laser Hair Removal (Lumenis)

Laser epilation works by selective photothermolysis: laser light is absorbed by melanin in the hair shaft and follicle, converting to heat that disables the follicle's regenerative cells. Only follicles in the active (anagen) growth phase are vulnerable at any session — roughly a fifth to a third of hairs at a time — which is why a course of typically 5–8 sessions spaced 4–7 weeks apart is needed for comprehensive, long-term reduction.

Arte Clinic uses a high-energy Lumenis laser platform, operated by trained staff within a plastic surgery clinic — relevant for safe energy settings across different skin types and for handling sensitive areas. Treatable zones span the entire face and body: upper lip, chin, sideburns, cheeks, neck, underarms, arms, chest, areolas, abdomen, shoulders, bikini line, Brazilian, buttocks, calves, thighs, and the full back, each priced per session.

Preparation matters for both comfort and effect: hair should be trimmed to about 1 mm (not plucked or waxed for four weeks before, since the follicle must contain the hair shaft), sun and tanning are avoided ahead of sessions, and creams are removed from the area. Contraindications include pregnancy, epilepsy, photosensitising medication, active skin inflammation, and certain hormonal disorders — screened before treatment.
