Mini abdominoplasty targets only the lower abdomen — below the navel — making it the right choice for patients with localised lower-pole skin looseness who do not need the navel relocated or the upper abdomen addressed. The scar is shorter and lower than in a full abdominoplasty, hidden within swimwear. About this treatment
Mini abdominoplasty is a precisely targeted procedure for lower abdominal skin excess that is confined below the umbilicus. It differs from full abdominoplasty in three key ways: the navel is not moved or repositioned, the skin undermining extends only partway up the abdominal wall rather than to the rib cage, and the resulting scar is shorter — a horizontal incision placed low in the lower abdomen, well hidden beneath underwear or swimwear.

The combination of mini abdominoplasty with liposuction — lipoabdominoplasty — is frequently chosen to address both skin excess in the lower pole and residual fat in the flanks or upper abdomen. Liposuction is performed first to sculpt the surrounding areas, and the skin is then excised and closed. This combined approach produces a more comprehensive contouring result than either procedure alone.
