Classic Liposuction

Type

Liposuction

Duration

2 hours

Classic liposuction uses metal suction cannulas to remove localised subcutaneous fat deposits from the abdomen, flanks, thighs, chin, and other areas. Art Ethic also offers the Argo-Lipo variant — a plasma-heating technique applied via the same access incisions — which adds a mild skin-tightening element to the conventional extraction. The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia for most cases, with a tumescent pre-treatment to minimise bleeding and bruising. Fat volume is measured precisely during extraction to achieve a symmetrical, planned outcome.

Conventional liposuction remains the most widely validated surgical method for removing localised subcutaneous fat accumulations that are resistant to diet and exercise. At Art Ethic Beauty Clinic, the procedure is performed by doc. MUDr. Martin Molitor, Ph.D., MBA using precision-calibrated suction cannulas in sizes matched to the treatment area and fat density. Before any fat removal begins, a tumescent solution — a dilute mixture of saline, local anaesthetic (lidocaine), and a vasoconstrictor (epinephrine) — is infused throughout the target tissue. This pre-treatment provides local analgesia, causes blood vessels to contract to reduce intraoperative bleeding and post-operative bruising, and begins to separate the fat lobules for smoother extraction. The result is a more controlled, measurable removal than non-tumescent approaches. Cannulas are introduced through small incisions (3–4 mm) placed in natural skin creases or concealed areas. The surgeon uses fan-like sweeping movements to extract fat evenly across the target zone, removing a precisely measured volume to achieve the planned contour change and maintain symmetry between both sides. This quantitative approach avoids over-removal and under-removal — both common causes of irregular results. Art Ethic also offers the Argo-Lipo option alongside conventional extraction: a plasma-energy device applies controlled thermal stimulation to the undersurface of the skin through the same access incisions, promoting collagen remodelling and mild skin contraction. This is beneficial for patients with modest skin laxity who want additional tightening without a separate procedure. Procedure duration ranges from one to four hours. Post-operative compression garments are required for several weeks. Bruising and swelling resolve over two to three weeks; the final contoured result is apparent at eight weeks. Patients with significant excess skin — for example after major weight loss — typically require dermolipectomy (surgical skin excision) rather than liposuction alone.
