Microneedling (Dermapen)

Type

Microneedling

Duration

1 hour

Controlled micro-injury treatment using the Dermapen automated microneedling system to trigger the skin's natural collagen and elastin regeneration. At Arsderma a physician-supervised practitioner passes the Dermapen — a motorised pen with a cluster of micro-needles adjustable in depth from 0.5 to 2.5 mm — across the face in a controlled grid, creating thousands of microscopic channels that stimulate wound-healing without ablating the skin surface. The treatment addresses enlarged pores, acne scars, fine lines, uneven texture and overall skin quality. From 3,500 Kč; can be combined with PRP for deeper bio-stimulation.

Microneedling creates thousands of micro-injuries in the skin in a controlled, reproducible way, triggering the same healing cascade — inflammation, proliferation, remodelling — that the body uses to repair any wound, but at a scale and depth chosen by the practitioner to achieve cosmetic regeneration rather than wound healing. The micro-channels created by the needles stimulate fibroblast proliferation and new collagen and elastin synthesis in the dermis, improving the structural support of the skin from within. They also temporarily increase epidermal permeability, allowing topical active ingredients applied during or after the procedure to penetrate far more effectively than they would on intact skin. At Arsderma the Dermapen automated microneedling device is used, which has the advantage over older manual rollers of consistent needle insertion angle (perpendicular to the skin surface) and adjustable insertion depth — typically 1.0 to 2.5 mm for the face — allowing the practitioner to vary depth by zone and target different layers precisely. Before the session a topical anaesthetic cream is applied and left for 30 to 45 minutes so the procedure is comfortable throughout. The practitioner then works the device across the face in a systematic grid; the sensation is a warm pressure with very mild stinging. Immediately after treatment the skin appears red — resembling a mild sunburn — and this typically resolves within 24 to 48 hours. Minor pinpoint bleeding is normal and resolves within minutes. In the days following, the skin may feel tighter and slightly rough as collagen begins to form, with an initial glow sometimes visible within a week as the skin renews. The full remodelling benefit builds over four to eight weeks as new collagen matures. For optimal results in scar improvement, Arsderma recommends a course of three to four sessions spaced four weeks apart. The treatment can be powerfully combined with PRP application immediately after needling — the open micro-channels allow the PRP growth factors to penetrate deeply into the dermis, amplifying the bio-stimulatory response. Microneedling suits adults wanting to reduce the visibility of acne scars, pitted scarring, enlarged pores, fine lines and general textural irregularity. Active acne, rosacea flare-ups and current skin infections are contraindications — reviewed at the consultation.
